Summer is here! Well by the calendar, meteorological summer, which stretches from 1 June to 31 August. Temperatures for the upcoming weekend are looking to be in the middle to upper 80s for Friday and Saturday, just before showers and thunderstorms move into the region for the afternoon and evening. This is due to a cold front that will make its way through the region as jet stream gets storm systems moving again. Sunday looks dry as the cold front pushes south Michigan by the morning. So most of you with the return trip on Sunday will have good weather to end the weekend as well as for travel home. Currently, the chance for severe thunderstorms will be to the west of the region as well.

Looking to the following weekend, which in the Gaylord area is the Big Ticket Festival, the Climate Prediction Center is looking for normal temperatures, and Above normal precipitation. Now that the jet stream has broken its block, that would make sense, as the storm systems will probably begin marching through the region more regularly. Great if you like the gardening for our out of doors activity, but not for most of the others.
