Friday through Tuesday mapsLooking at the forecasted fronts from HPC, high pressure will continue to stay over northern Michigan through at least Saturday. On Sunday, a warm front gets through central lower Michigan by the morning, so it looks like a chance for rain showers for the day. The thing is, that once the warm front is through, most places will become at least partly sunny for the afternoon with warmer air flooding in.  It looks like that temperatures will start near 80 on Friday, but warm to the mid to upper 80s by Sunday.  So we may be seeing some summer warmth this weekend.

Due to scheduling, I’m hoping to get the forecast and podcast out late tonight. So that it is available by Friday and most folks are heading up north. The only change from the preview on Tuesday is that there is a chance for showers on Saturday as well as Sunday. High temperatures are still in the lower to mid 70s for the weekend.

The computer models and HPC are looking somewhat consistant with the forecast for Friday through Sunday. The main things is that a front moves through Thursday night and then high pressure builds in. Sunday, another front moves in and brings the rain. Friday and Saturday are looking like partly sunny days with the chance of rain showers on Sunday.  High temperatures are expected to be in lower to mid 70s on each day.

With all of the dry air that has been getting into the flow of things, I don’t take many of the 30% chance of rain showers forecasts very seriously, and that’s what is coming up. Friday looks like there will be spotty showers and maybe a thunderstorm around as the front that is supposed to come through on Thursday night will have some residual showers behind it. However, Saturday and Sunday look to be improving with sunny to partly cloudy conditions through the weekend. Temperatures on both days look to be in the lower 70s.

Will be updating when I get home, but I see that the NWS Gaylord people are saying that the rain will be pretty much contained to Friday night. I’m currently at a garage sale in Gaylord. I will have links and stuff tonight. Until then, please use the links to right.

So far so good. It looks like the sky should clear out on Friday with temperatures a little cooler, but not terribly cold. The rest of the forecast for the weekend is on track.

I already tweeted this, but I added Word Press Mobile to the website. I might change the plugin as I see a new version that let’s you admin from mobile as well. I’ll let this rest for a bit and let it ride. for now. I meant to start blogging about the Holiday, but obviously I have been getting sidetracked.
